It seems like a fleeting memory but it was warm enough, not too long, that strolling along the water was a good idea. However right now it would be beautiful it would undoubtedly be too cold!

One of my wonderful friends married her amazing partner this past fall at a wonderful venue at the south street seaport overlooking Brooklyn!

Walking around in your own neighborhood and being one of the lucky ones is really an odd feeling. I had my camera with me as I walked around DUMBO the day after Sandy brutalized the east coast. I only snapped a few shots; maybe I was overwhelmed, in a state of shock or truly realizing how lucky we were. These few photos don’t capture nearly the enormity of the situation but here are the shots I snapped….
…Yet despite the insanity around it… The Brooklyn Bridge still stood mighty and strong…
And, now, having been a part of one of this monumental NYC events I am amazed at the community my city, of 8 million, has. I wish everyone could take the kind of love and commitment they have towards helping each other and embrace it without having a natural disaster be the root of it.

This past weekend in New York City it felt like spring… the sun was shining, people were out and I was super motivated! My friend Stephanie was in town visiting and we took full advantage of the weather! Walking along the Brooklyn Promenade over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan (picking up our friend Lindsey) and walking back to Brooklyn…. ALL with dog in tow!

If anyone has been following the news … they know that the NYC area was rain soaked these past few days. Thankfully I was gone most of the weekend…
From what I heard there was flooding, wind and power outages… and judging from the clouds overhead on my train ride back to NYC it was a very intense weekend…

Today is the kind of rainy, gross day that you stay curled up in a blanket, on your couch, at your apartment all day watching movies (or for me probably catching up on bad reality TV shows). Unfortunately I had to venture outside to work… these are the kind of days that driving to work would be a dream!
So last night the bad weather crept in – this is another night shot while driving over the Brooklyn Bridge (don’t worry I was not in the driver’s seat 
) while the storm took a brief hiatus…
