I have to hope that winter 2013 is winding down…
of course there is plenty of time for another huge snowstorm!
But as I eagerly anticipate warmer weather it is nice to appreciate the snowy landscape (even though I’m kinda over it

It is nearing that time again (although it certainly doesn’t feel like it right now)…
The start of pitchers and catchers means spring then SUMMER!!! Sunshine, no more slush and being outdoors without 3 layers of clothing!

… to Lake Tahoe…
I was lucky enough to spend some time in Lake Tahoe…
… if this was a normal winter than the landscape would have been a winter wonderland (in addition the road this photo was taken on would have been closed due to snow)… but this year there was no pretty white stuff. And although we still tried our hand at skiing I preferred the hike we went on in 62 degree weather. While on the trail I actually saw snow…
… which unfortunately was only nice in photos because in reality it was old, hard and crunchy… since the snow we uncovered on our hike was from a storm in October!
I’m hoping that as the winter progresses Tahoe gets a bit of snow or else it will be a very hard coming year for the water supply of the Bay Area!

For a dog “go fetch” might be a tennis ball or a stick. Capone is no different… he LOVES sticks. But on a winter snowshoe adventure…he discovered that some sticks aren’t the kind you can fetch…
…. he eventually let the “stick” be… would love to see the top of that small tree in the non-winter months.

Oh Canada…
A few weeks back a took a vacation to Montreal in FEBRUARY! Yes the dead of winter in Canada… but let me tell you what a cool place to visit. Although cold the people were warm and friendly and there was plenty to do.. that is if you were bundled up!
